A good practice of inter-municipal cooperation
The hydraulic improvements to the water supply system in the Municipality of Bistrica ob Sotli (OKP 1 and OKP 4) and three systems in the Municipality of Brežice (Brežice, Pišece, and Bizeljsko) are part of a joint project between the two municipalities.

Co-financed by European funds, the project included the connection of the Bistrica ob Sotli system to the Bizeljsko system, which is in turn connected to the Brežice system. The construction of new pipeline sections enabled additional residents to connect to the public water supply network and incorporated elements that improve the hydraulic performance of the systems.

CMC GROUP participated in the project as a subcontractor and material supplier, carrying out mechanical works on the water supply network. In the Municipality of Brežice, the project included the construction of pipelines, the Pišece water reservoir, upgrades to the Duplo pumping station, the construction of the Brezje pri Bojsnem reservoir, and the renovation of the Bizeljsko and Gregorevčič reservoirs. In the Municipality of Bistrica ob Sotli, in addition to pipeline construction, several new facilities were established: the Trebče reservoir and pressure relief facility, the Trebče pumping station, the Hrastje reservoir and pressure relief facility, and a measuring chamber located between the municipalities of Bistrica ob Sotli and Brežice.

The project has significantly improved the quality and reliability of the water supply system and has contributed to reducing water losses. With the successful completion of this demanding project, a long-term and secure supply of drinking water for residents of both municipalities is now ensured.
