Product description

The functioning principle of the inductive meter is based on the Faraday's law, where a certain voltage appears on both ends of a conductor moving through a magnetic field.

U = v x B x L
U – induced voltage,
B – magnetic field density,
L – conductor length (segment of liquid) in the magnetic field,
v – velocity of the conductor passing through the magnetic field.

This means:

  • The voltage between the electrodes is proportional to the velocity of the moving liquid (fluid),
  • Good accuracy and repeatability,
  • Reliable and stable measurement,
  • Wide measuring range,
  • Dimensions: from 3 mm to 2000 mm,
  • 2-way volume and flow-rate measuring,
  • Practically negligible drop in pressure,
  • Multiple options for output signals (analogue, digital, relay, ProfiBus, HART, Modbus, data loggers etc.),
  • Condition: conductivity of the medium (> 5 µS)

They do not possess any movable parts, and are therefore especially non-sensitive to impurities in the medium; also suitable for use with aggressive media. The meters may be designed as a tube with inner lining and electrodes, or the electrodes are built-in at the end of the rod which is inserted into a specially prepared opening in the tube.
